Dyeing with sodium alginate

Ok, so, i have been looking for funky colorful sheets for my bed for like 12 years without any luck. I finally had to take matters into my own hands and dye my own sheet set using a technique that I learned about during a gallery talk (which is like the last thing I wanted to do but was sort of dragged there by a friend)
The technique involves mixing dye with sodium alginate (sea kelp)
which thikens the dye so that you can paint with it without the dye bleeding. Sooooo.... what do you think?
